Volunteering

Volunteers have made important contributions to the work of the Royal Commission over the years. Many individual researchers have contributed their findings to Royal Commission projects, for example helping us to record thousands of chapels in Wales.

We also welcome volunteers at our offices in Aberystwyth, such as those seeking to gain experience in particular areas of work or those with general interests that they wish to pursue in archaeology, architecture, historical research and archive management. There may be opportunities to undertake work such as answering reader enquiries, cataloguing archive collections, field survey, illustration or publishing. Sponsored training placements and work-experience opportunities may be available from time to time. If you would like further information please contact Sue Billingsley on 01970 621228 or email Sue Billingsley via our Contact Us page.
